BOULEVARD HEIGHTS

THE FEEL

Boulevard Heights is the best of both worlds: easy city access with suburban charm. Formerly the site of city greenhouses, Boulevard Heights is an up-and coming neighborhood with room to grow.  It has a mix architecture styles from gingerbread-style cottages to large homes with turrets. And with newly constructed town homes and condos and development of new single-family homes, there is a porch for almost everyone.

Not only is it one of the most popular neighborhoods in St. Louis city, it’s also one of the safest. Many of the city’s police officers and fire fighters are residents of this area.

HISTORY

The Boulevard Heights Improvement Association was founded in 1933 and is one of the oldest active neighborhood associations in the city.

ACCESSIBILITY

Boulevard Heights is a neighborhood in diverse south Saint Louis. With Holly Hills/ Loughborough to the north, highway 55 to the East, Gravois to the west, and the city limits (Webster Road) to the south, the daily commute into the city is manageable and a change of scenery is just a street away.

CULTURE

A little old Saint Louis and a little new, this neighborhood contains local favorites while also being accessible for everyday needs, like the newly expanded Loughborough commons shopping center.

ENTERTAINMENT

Boulevard Heights is friendly to the arts, and there is no shortage of things to do on a Saturday night. With plenty of bars, music venues, and museums, it’s easy to become a patron or step out of your comfort zone.

SCHOOLS

Boulevard Heights is a part of the St. Louis school district. This district offers college preparatory, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and traditional public schools. St. Louis also houses top tier private and independent academies.

PARKS & REC

River Des Peres Greenway

Passing through the neighborhood and a part of the Great Rivers Greenway trail. Once a boring stretch of unused land, the Greenway is now a trail flanked by trees and often filled with bikers, dog walkers and joggers. The trail connects to the one-street Bike St. Louis system at Lansdowne MetroLink station and to the Christy Greenway trail that extends one mile from Germania Avenue to Holly Hills Boulevard.

Carondelet Park

On the northern edge of the neighborhood sits the large and beautiful park. With the addition of new jogging trails, it has become the destination for walkers and runners.
